Marlyne Chery, MA

Marlyne Chery, MA, graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2013 with a Master’s degree in
Counseling. She also has a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Criminal Justice from
Northeastern University, where she graduated in 2002.Â
Marlyne has been working full time in the field for the past 12 years, holding various clinical
positions such as recovery specialist, substance abuse counselor and family intervention
specialist. She has experience working with all aged individuals, couples and facilitated
groups.
Prior to that, she was working in group homes with the mental health and retardation
population. She also has experience working in law enforcement as a guard and also as a
counselor for the inmate population with mental health and substance abuse issues.Â
Marlyne was raised in a religious home as a Christian (mostly Pentecostal and Baptist
denominations). She is very involved in her church community and is a faithful member. She
takes pride in putting her clinical skills in use to assist her church community.  She has a
passion for helping people seek their Creator for counsel when everything else seems to have
failed.
